Iconic!...
Originally constructed pre-Civil War, this important historical light used a candle lantern that warned of the shallow waters off Assateague Island located in Virginia. Now modernized, the lighthouse has been converted to electric and is visible 19 miles out to sea. It remains functional to this day.
Did you know that each lighthouse uses a unique light pattern to identify themselves? Assateague has twin rotating lights that flash one after the other.
This is a large painting where you will combine simple tapped foliage with a more detailed lighthouse to make a striking statement. Even the sky is beautiful!
