SKILL
Sunflowers demonstrate the importance of white spaces that add interest. You will learn color mixing to create the leaves where a bit of yellow or gold changes your greens so dramatically.
We will be combining pen with watercolor and have fun watching splatters change your picture.

  • 6"x13" Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper
PALETTE (Windsor Newton Watercolors)
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Burnt Umber
  • Cadmium Yellow
  • Quinacridone Gold (Cindy prefers Daniel Smith)
  • Sap Green
  • Windsor Yellow
  • Due to Covid you may find supply shortages. Substitute as closely as you can.
BRUSHES (Cindy uses Royal & Langnickel Majestic or Zen Series)
  • #8 Round, good quality
  • AND

ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
  • Water
  • Tracing Paper
  • Transfer Paper, Wax-Free (wax is a resist with watercolor paint)
  • Toothbrush
  • Black Permanent Pen (Cindy uses a Zig 08)
PATTERN
  • After putting your pattern on tracing paper, transfer it carefully to watercolor paper keeping lines light but dark enough to see.
