Community Projects
Community outreach through our ‘Brush Strokes’
The DASF Chapter is an active group of decorative painters whose members reach out to the community in so many ways. We support education through scholarship, learn-to-paint sessions, and library displays. We support the bereaved with our memory box program. We support children and abused women through our suitcase program. And we support those in need with our canned goods donations.
Anyone can learn to paint and we welcome new members with community spirit who are looking for fellowship.
- Memory Boxes and Suitcases are a monthly focus.
- Learn-to-Paint is usually in October but has happened in the spring time months, also
- Canned goods are collected from members at all meetings throughout the year to support Harry Chapin and our Lee County neighborhoods
- Pop Can Tabs are collected for Ronald MacDonald House
- Area Libraries host displays of our artwork, another form of community outreach, usually coupled with a painting demonstration
- A $500 Annual Scholarship is awarded to one Lee County HS senior
