Recognized world-wide as an important part of American folk history, these self-taught African-American artists contributed a vivid documentation of Florida culture and history. They painted in the 50’s and 60’s and continue to paint to this day!Gerri was first attracted by the Highwaymen art during ArtFest 2014 when they visited Fort Myers. She began researching and collecting their paintings and has an exciting opportunity to paint with one of the original Highwaymen in March. Gerri will teach the Highwaymen style using tube acrylics.Gerri has been painting in this style for the past 4-years and is hoping you will be interested in their fascinating stories and this much easier and relaxed painting method. Come paint with Gerri. Learn to be a better artist!

• This is painted without a pattern… Gerri will create a pattern for you but prefers it NOT be applied

PALETTE:  (Basic colors listed below used by the Highwaymen have been converted from oils used by Highwaymen to acrylics. In their style, Liquitex Basics, Premiere, The Fine Touch, Daler Rowney System 3, and DecoArt Premium will be provided. Bring your own tube acrylics, too, if you want.)
