ROSEATE SPOONBILL
Learn about painting form, feathers, and color to study this ever popular local bird.
Between the flamboyant bright pink feathers, the red eye staring out and the oddly shaped bill sweeping back and forth through the water they create quite a sight. Living in large flocks, they are found in shallow water. The light pink young darken with age. Roseate spoonbills are large birds standing about 2.5-feet tall with a 4-foot wingspan!
