Recognized world-wide as an important part of American folk history, these self-taught African-American artists contributed a vivid documentation of Florida culture and history. They painted in the 50’s and 60’s and continue to paint to this day! RL Lewis who inspired this painting is an original Highwaymen.

For almost a decade, since the ArtFest 2014, Gerri has been attracted to and painting in this style that captured Florida’s natural landscapes. She has researched and collected Highwaymen paintings. Gerri has met and learned from Highwaymen in person. Now she passes this experience on to you!
