SCHOLARSHIP 2024
…encourage a promising high school senior you know to apply for the DASF Annual Scholarship …Applications due April 15th

Dragonfly ‘LOVE’!

Dragonfly ‘love’ depends on males attracting the ladies with bling – those dark patches seen on their wings that also makes males several degrees warmer. Those patches are disappearing with Global Warming in order to help males stay cooler. …Will males still attract mates?
These dragonflies dance on an interesting background of decoupaged newsprint, stencils and wall tape. Layer-by-layer you will build an eye catching painting using washes, scrubbed on paint and analogous colors. Dragonfly populations are in decline so be sure to give your dragonflies a dark patch or two.

April PHOTO Gallery
Painters enjoyed getting ‘glue-fingers’ with decoupage, scrubbing on paint and using stencils as they created their one of a kind backgrounds. It was messy but fun as everyone interpreted unique dragonflies in their own style and learned about how global warming is affecting dragonfly populations.
Thanks, Madonna for the class, and thanks to DASF for providing a pizza lunch to show how much members and members-to-be are appreciated.

Keep inviting your guests. We know how to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated.
