Monica was everywhere …helping painters outdoors chose and “bleach-spray” a bag with their chosen design and then indoors with clear instructions and tips for everyone. With words and demos, Monica’s students all had fabulous projects. We may not have traveled to conventions in Ohio or Tennessee or even New England but we sure experienced a convention quality class and all for just $7.

On Caterpillars and Butterflies…
Remember you may need to endure a few caterpillars in life if you wish to become acquainted with the butterflies! No need to wait for a caterpillar transformation when this project will allow you to create your own beautiful butterflies.

Be amazed how an ordinary black canvas bag with a spray of bleach and enhanced with some acrylic paints will transform into a “butterfly”. Monica brings us some great ideas and always adds a few ‘doo-dads’ to the design. This project will be no exception.

And what’s more, SHHHH! “Its a surprise, but Monica will have other designs to choose from…” Have some relaxing fun painting with Monica. You will not be disappointed as compliments will roll in when you carry this canvas bag…

SUPPLY FEES:

• Instruction Packet/Palette    $7.00 
•   …Please try to bring correct currency so we don’t have to make a lot of change

SURFACE:

• If you use a painter’s choice surface you will need a 13×13 area to accommodate the pattern.
• 13x13x3.5 Cotton Canvas Bag …FREE to members painting the program
• These are great bags, sturdy, and washable

SURFACE PREPARATION:

• None Required

BRUSHES:
Don’t use expensive high-end brushes.  ‘Scrubbies’ or well used brushes might be best as working on canvas can be rough on brushes.  Any brush you don’t mind “scrubbing” into material with.

• 1/2 or 1/4 inch Flat (…number 8 or smaller)
• #8 or smaller Rounds
• Liners

PALETTE:

• Will be provided by Monica
• Metallics and Glitter Paints are the main pallete.  But feel free to bring any fabric, or acrylic paints in your fav colors.
• Many colors for you to choose from
• Metallics
• Glitter Paints – (please no loose glitter as it is hard for clean-up)
• Monica will also provide glue and jewels to glitz and glam your bag!!

SUPPLIES:

• Usual acrylic supplies
• Paper Towels
• Water Bucket
• Maybe a tweezer to help with setting the glitzy stones
• Black Identi-Pen or Sharpie
• Tracing / Transfer Paper
