Its true that just looking at this painting with its warm colors will make the viewer feel happy inside. And you will be happy painting this while you learn about “bokeh” and how to pronounce it!

Bokeh comes from the Japanese word meaning to blur and the effect in painting is a technique that creates an out-of-focus to mimic the effect of a camera lens. You can chose to pronounce it BOH-KUH but to be closer to the proper Japanese origins, say BOH-KAY.

Cathy did an amazing job preparing supplies and techniques so we would be successful …even had her hubby engaged making us individual stencils for just one of the ways she taught us the technique of bokeh.
