Nature’s Beauty

The focus of this program is the beautiful flamingo which gets their name from the Spanish flamenco, a dance and guitar style hot as fire. These extraordinary pink birds with a touch of feminine flair are the perfect muse for an artist! Flocks of thousands were found in the wild prior to 1920 by which time their numbers were decimated as feathers were collected for women’s hats and they were hunted for their meat.

The flamingo, often depicted artfully balancing on one leg in the water, is a natural work of art. A flamingo may be painted alone, or in a group called a flamboyance.

Using a straw to blow paint and masking fluid to act as a resist, Judy will help you create a painting that is easier than it looks. With Judy as your guide, you will impress everyone with the completed painting!

March PHOTO Gallery
Magnificent! Magnificent is the one word to describe this amazing March program with very high attendance and so very many guests. The air was filled with excitement and DASF welcomed 4-new members! Many members picked up unfinished wooden eggs to paint one for the Easter Egg Exchange in April. That is always a fun activity to see the wonderful eggs that show up in the DASF Easter Basket.
